RESUMÉ

Born in the San Francisco Bay Area and raised in Southern California, Reginald Brooks graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in general science in 1970. Before fully completing a MS degree in cell biology, he moved his young family to Portland to obtain a degree in Medical Technology.

After five invigorating years as a medical research specialist he returned to his true love... the visual arts. Thus began a long career as a painter and sculptor with a strong interest in realizing and expressing the amazing world that we inhabit... with a considerable interest in seeing the world without borders...without the overt distinction between the aesthetic, interpretive view of the visual arts and the seemingly plain, yet nevertheless interpretive view of science.

Writings on mathematics and physics, both his own and others, have formed the underpinnings of much of his work over the years.

New media net.art... work created on and designed to be experience on a computer... has been a new and very exciting part of his output since 2001. This medium has provided a natural collaborative venue for separate media (white papers, prints, drawings, paintings, sculpture and animations) to come together to present a more complete immersive experience to a global audience.

He has exhibited his paintings and sculptures in a number of solo (Portland) and group shows across the country.

Writings based on visual art, math, music and physics

    Oceans of Numbers -3: FOCUS

This has been extracted from   BOOK X: Appendix V: MPS PN Factors (Divisors).

The work was completed in late 2024.

It is given FOCUS because it both summarizes and -- like any good summary -- it invites more questions than answers!

It grows and grows and grows.

It is part of the investigative research process.

It's reach is beyond its grasp!

Work in progress - ongoing - see Updates below BOOK X: Appendix V: .(BIM-MPS_10) Another summary, resulting from a detailed look at the factors and divisors of both the "containers" of the Exponential Power of 2, and, their very special subset of Mersenne Prime-Perfect Number pairings, brings us closer to a fuller understanding of these "gems" of numbers. It was through the interplay of inductive-deductive research that the pattern -- so obvious now in retrospect -- issued forth. The conclusion(s) drawn beg much larger questions. Some of these are addressed. None of them are answered. The overwhelming beauty of distribution and connectiveness between the larger set of "containers" and the precious "gem" set of Mp-PNs suggests only the tip of the iceberg is shown here. But what a tip! The research leading to the discovery of the Divisor Matrix Table (DMT) is fully documented here! The Butterfly Fractal that enforms the initial PN now expands to inform an larger area contaning multiple MPS. This geometry becomes clearly defined on the BIM.

The Brooks Base Square - Inverse Square Law (BBS-ISL) matrix is an infinitely expandable grid that reveals ALL Pythagorean Triples — both Primitive Triples (PPT) and their non-Primitive multiples (nPTT).
